Across DSB1, we’re excited to welcome back all students and staff on Monday, January 9! We hope you had a wonderful winter break and are eager to engage in more learning as we enter 2023 together.

We’re incredibly pleased to present the winning artwork for the 2022 Holiday Card Contest! Created by a Grade 2 student at Central Public School! Our DSB1 Holiday Greeting Card will be shared with community members across the region.

Thank you to the more than 200 students for your participation and talented submissions!

We wish our students, staff, and families a healthy, happy, and safe winter break and holiday season!

All DSB1 schools will re-open for learning on Monday, January 9, 2023.

At DSB1, we build strong partnerships and varied pathways for our students to succeed. These pathways and partnerships are highlighted in the opportunities and activities students experience throughout the school year, showcased within our December 2022 Strategic Plan Vignette!

Students and staff involved in their school's Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) gathered for a board-wide GSA Get Together at Roland Michener Secondary School to share best practices, develop relationships, collaborate, and plan the next steps for this year.

We are pleased to present our November 2022 Strategic Plan Vignette! Students, families, and staff help bring our Strategic Action of Communication to life, demonstrating appreciation for stakeholders within our DSB1 community.

DSB1 is committed to providing equitable learning environments so that all students can achieve personal excellence. To achieve this, we must truly understand the needs of our students and their families.

We are pleased to announce that we are launching the “ONE and Only Me” survey for all families and students to complete by December 2nd, 2022.

On Sunday, November 20, 2022, a tentative agreement was reached for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

As a result, CUPE will not take any job action and all DSB1 schools will remain open. Further, there will be no disruption to student learning or any school-related activities.
