All School Buses Cancelled in all Areas

All school buses in all areas are cancelled due to weather and road conditions. Schools remain open except Elk Lake Public School, Kerns Public School and Temagami Public School.

Family Day

Wishing our students, families and staff an enjoyable long weekend!

Our DSB1 schools and Board offices will be closed on Monday, February 19, 2024, in celebration of Family Day.

Each year, February 15 marks the National Flag of Canada Day. On this day, 59 years ago in 1965, the Canadian flag was raised for the very first time on Parliament Hill at 12 p.m. On February 15, the following year, National Flag of Canada was declared.

February 14 is Have a Heart Day. This day recognizes a youth-led reconciliation event that brings together caring Canadians, demonstrating a collective commitment to love and fairness for all First Nations children.

Supports for Students & Families

DSB1 is pleased to launch a Transportation Pilot Program and announce a partnership with Read, Write, Think, a tutoring service to support students and families impacted by bus route cancellations.
