🩺 At TDSS, SHSM students ran hands-on simulation labs for their peers from THVS—showcasing leadership, teamwork, and clinical skill in action.
🚁 At ORNGE Air Ambulance, students toured the hangar, met with pilots and first responders, and had the opportunity to practice intubation on a medical simulation mannequin!
🏥 At Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, students explored Canada’s first smart hospital and learned how technology and healthcare systems work together to enhance patient care. Presentations covered:
- Simulation education using 3D-printed wounds
- Roles like Sim Techs, clinical informatics analysts, and AI/ML specialists
- The use of smart beds, real-time location systems, Vocera mobile communications, and more
- Career pathways in Healthcare IT such as Cybersecurity Analyst and Data Analyst
This immersive experience demonstrated how technology, innovation, and interdisciplinary teamwork keep modern hospitals running 24/7.
